On Wednesday September 28, 2016 at approximately 1:00 p.m. the Brunswick County Sheriff Office conducted a drug investigation. The investigation lead us to have knowledge that Randy West, 22 year old white male from Macon, North Carolina, was in Brunswick County. We were holding active Brunswick County Circuit Court indictments for Mr. West. The indictments were generated by Brunswick Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigation Division for a multitude of charges including, one count of distribution of heroin, one count of distribution of cocaine, one count of distribution of marijuana and one count of receiving money by false pretenses.
On the above date and time, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to execute a traffic stop after identifying Randy West as the driver of a vehicle operating on Boydton Plank Road. Mr. West attempted to elude the deputies by driving erratically and at a high rate of speed. The pursuit ended in Mecklenburg County without incident. After securing the scene, Mr. West was taken into custody and transported to Meherrin River Regional Jail. Mr. West was served the drug indictments and was also charged with felony eluding. He is currently being held at the Meherrin River Regional Jail under no bond.
