Major drug bust on Antioch Road

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division conducted an extensive investigation involving alleged drug distribution. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant on Friday, April 1, 2016, at 5:30 a.m. for 968 Antioch Road located in Brunswick County. The Sheriff’s Office had active felony warrants for Frederick Stith, 44 year old male, Warfield, Virginia, for the distribution of cocaine. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team effectively and safely entered and secured the residence taking Mr. Stith into custody. Items seized from the search warrant included a 2005 Nissan Sedan, two shotguns, one semi-automatic rifle, four individual bags of crack cocaine, one bag containing 22 oxycodone pills, one bag containing over one-half ounce of powder cocaine, and $4,687.00 in U.S. currency. Frederick Stith was arrested and is currently being held at the Meherrin River Regional Jail under no bond.

Sheriff Roberts said “This major drug bust, in conjunction with the previous two within the last seven days, is an overwhelmingly significant step towards the eradication of illegal drug activity in Brunswick County.  The arrest of Mr. Stith has resulted in the end of a twenty-year cycle of criminal activity. I am proud of the persistent efforts that my team has put into this investigation and extremely pleased with the results. Additionally, I am confident that we will continue to bring about more changes with the new initiatives we have put in place for the near future. ”
